RUD Ketten is one of the world's leading manufacturers of innovative solutions in the field of conveying technology. We are at home in all major industrial markets in the bulk materials sector. A wide range of services and our many years of experience ensure that we can meet any challenge. You can find a brief overview of our reference projects and applications in conveyor technology here. Robust and optimally adapted to a wide range of conditions. You can find vertical conveyors here. We plan and build your conveyor system for conveying your materials, such as unit loads or bulk goods. Whether chain conveyors, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, conveyor systems or conveying systems, we will find the right solution for you thanks to our extensive experience in the field of conveyor technology.
Conversion of a bunker unloader
Problem description
- Heavy and irregular chain wear
- Skewed scraper bars
- No complete discharge due to a floating chain belt
- Heavy wear in the chain guides and in the drive sprockets
- Numerous system failures due to blockages and jams
RUD solution & result
- Changeover to RUD MEE-KB system and special scraper bars
- Use of the RUD round steel chain 22x86 R2B and RUD MEE-KB
- Reduction of wear; also of irregular wear
- Complete end loading through special scraper bar design
- Trouble-free operation of the conveyor
Conversion of a belt bucket elevator
Problem description
Major conveying problems arose due to considerable differences between the required (requested) and actual material specifications.
Requested: Gypsum, 0-50 mm, destructible, 10% moisture, non-sticky
Actual: Gypsum, 0-80 mm, non-destructible, very wet, extremely sticky
=> Clogged buckets
=> Bucket elevator overflow
=> Frequent stoppages
=> Conveying capacity not achieved
RUD solution & result
- Replacement of stainless steel buckets with stainless steel buckets with flexible rubber bottom and scraper teeth.
- Continuous, trouble-free and required conveying capacity achieved!

Improved material feed of moderately flowing conveyed goods
Problem description
Material feed is extremely important for reliable conveying operation. In most cases, the inlet flange on the bucket elevator reflects the limits of responsibility between customer and manufacturer. Errors in the material feed lead to problems with the machine:
Material feed not centered:
→ asymmetrical bucket loading, different chain load / elongation (chain bucket elevators), misalignment of the buckets, therefore problems with chain reversals, misalignment of the belt (belt bucket elevators)
→ Risk of operational safety / total failure of thesystemMaterial feed speed toohigh:
→ Material splashes/runs out of the buckets
→ Calculated bucket load cannot be achieved
→ Planned conveying capacity decreases
→ Failure of operational safety / total failure of the system
RUD solution & result
Installation of a distributor in front of the elevator entrance:
=> The material feed speed is only slowed down so that no jams occur.
=> Material is guided in the direction of flow.
=> The distribution of the material flow before it hits the feed chute is less susceptible to blockages than, for example, at the bottom of the feed chute.
=> Better material distribution across the entire infeed width (bucket width).
=> No splashing of material from the buckets.
=> Achievement of the required capacity through better bucket utilization.
=> Greater operational safety by avoiding overloading of the machine / system.
Conversion of a biomass ash conveyor
Problem description
- Frequent chain breakages
- Frequent interruptions for maintenance work
- Low system availability
RUD solution & result
- Measurements were carried out by RUD on site
- All responsibilities were clarified by RUD
- A new housing design was developed for the RUD round steel chain system
- Round steel chain 16x64 and the SSRF system was installed
- Reduction of maintenance work on the ash conveyor
- Extension of service life with simultaneous cost reduction for the customer
Conversion of a wet ash extractor
Problem description
Due to increased ash and slag production, a higher conveying capacity and drive power was required.
RUD solution & result
- Conversion of the existing wet ash extractor to increase the conveying capacity
- Conversion of round steel chain 26x100 to 30x120 in the existing trough housing
- Installation of RUD underwater rollers (SOI)
- Short project time
- Outstanding performance of the new chain system
- No downtime due to overfilling of the conveyor
Conversion of an ash conveyor
Problem description
- Frequent chain breakage and breakage of the scraper bars
- Frequent chain downtime and high maintenance requirements
RUD solution & result
- Dimensional survey by RUD engineers on site
- The housing dimensions made it possible to retrofit with a RUD round steel chainnsystem in the existing trough
- The existing housing was adapted to the new RUD system
- Replacement of the existing link chain with a RUD round steel chain system
- Installation of the RUD round steel chain 19x75 and the SSRF-system
